Hi there. I’m Maggie.
Self portrait, August 2024. Shot on CineStill 800T 35mm film.
I like words. But not a lot of them.
I was trained to write poetry. To find the most meaning in the fewest words. I'm always editing. Always improving. Wearing down my delete key.
My career in content design and UX writing scratches that itch. I’ve built a life from broken delete keys and stories told through user flows.
I speak with users, during research, planning, and design stages. In my final products, I don’t guide users—I bring them along. I show them how to fix problems. I empathize when things go wrong. I celebrate with them when things go right.
My background in poetry keeps my messages brief. A history in the service industry keeps them effective and relatable.
I also like pictures.
I’ve spent most of my life behind a camera, but in 2023, I significantly upgraded my gear, buying a mirrorless camera, vintage lenses, and eventually, film development and scanning gear. I got serious about something that’d always been a casual part of my life.
I’ve been fortunate to shoot studio portraits, weddings, my friends’ bands, and a lot of street photography in and around my home base, Memphis, TN.
I’ve even have video camera credits for my local PBS station and ESPN+.
I’m always available for more.
